Happy Healthy Halloween and Zombie Walk

Hello Desert Hot Springs!
As there isn’t too much going on due to the election, I go over some safe and fun events happening here in Desert Hot Springs on Halloween for you and your family.
“Happy Healthy Halloween and Zombie Walk” brought to you by the Desert Hot Springs Healthy City Initiatives and Desert Hot Springs Rotary is coming back for its third year at Mission Springs Park, from 5pm to 9pm.
“Pumpkin Palooza” returns from 6pm to 8:30pm at Christian Center on the corner of Palm Drive and 8th Street.
Finally, “Harvest Fest” at Lily of the Valley Worship Center is from
6:00pm to 9:00pm, located on Pierson close to Casa Blanca.
Lastly, we touch on the election, mostly to review Measures U and V. These Measures allow you to select how you wish for Mayoral position be filled in Desert Hot Springs. Measure U would rotate the Mayor between council members, while Measure V would continue to directly elect the Mayor but increase their term to four years, with a two-term limit.
If both measures fail, we would keep a two year directly elected Mayor.
If both measures receive over 51% of the vote, the measure with the highest vote would go into place.
These measures will not go into effect until after the next local election.
