We made two presentations today before the council meeting honoring three incredible residents who are making a difference in our community.
First, Eddie Johnson, a veteran who donates his time to his fellow veterans constantly, also maintains the Veteran’s Park in town completely volunteer with both his time and money. Today, the city council honored him with gifts and officially gave him the title of “Veteran’s Park Caretaker.”
Secondly, two of the four winners from Riverside County for “California Teacher of the Year” came from Desert Hot Springs schools, this is out of 300,000 teachers. Both Michelle Beyronneau and Brian McDaniel became c andidates for the state selection. Brian McDaniel became one of the five to win the title and has gone on to compete for “National Teacher of the Year.”
