December city update!
This month we review our Holiday Tree Lighting, organized by the Community Cultural Affairs Commission, and the Holiday Parade, this year organized by the Desert Hot Springs Rotary with Grand Marshall, Olympian and hometown hero, Sarah Robles.
We review 2016. As Mayor, I realized our community was divided when I was elected on year ago, one of my first goals was to bring a sense of unity to the dais. I feel we have accomplished that, and I thank you for your support.
We had a lot of projects go through, worked on bringing jobs to our community, and we had a lot of planning for infrastructure and parks.
We review two of the main two questions we often get, related to Walmart and Rio Ranch Market. Our city has done everything we need to, and we discuss where the corporations are currently standing at this time.
We look to 2017.
We are going to have multiple town halls next year – as opposed to one large state of the city. These will be done throughout the community, and is your chance to both hear a message from the city’s direction, and you can come ask questions of myself, your city council and our staff to have your voice heard. The first town hall will be at the Health and Wellness Center sometime in February, the exact date will be announced next month.
We send out our prayers and best wishes to County Supervisor John J. Benoit, as he was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year Desert Hot Springs. See you January!
